In 2012, I was incredibly privileged to work with some extraordinary talent in Portland, Oregon. The last shoot I worked on was no exception.
It started with a Facebook post from my friend Elissa Hall, co-owner of Backtalk - a Portland vintage shop with some of the best curated items in the city. She was putting out the call for help with an upcoming shoot, naturally I responded.
The photoshoot was centered around the boundaries of gender lines and was entitled, “Girls want to be boys”. Which proved to be an interesting and insightful look into how outside appearances can often reflect inner rebellions.
Overall, I think the shoot was an outstanding success and thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone involved.
